We had a pretty good day at the second District XI Leadership Development Event contest today!! Harper and Sofie competed in Discovery Speaking, which is an event for 7th and 8th grade FFA members only. They each prepared a speech, between 2-4 minutes in length, about their chosen ag-related topic. Harper discussed the importance of registering your cattle and finished in 4th place with a purple ribbon, and is our district’s alternate to state competition!! Sofie received a blue ribbon for her speech, informing everyone about the great purposes of raising ducks as pets!! Jozee competed in Employment Skills. She developed a cover letter, resume and references for a chosen job (Extension office summer intern) and participated in an interview with multiple judges. Then, she wrote a follow-up note. Jozee earned a blue ribbon today!! Thanks also to Brooke, Natalie, Oakley and Thane for helping time the Ag Demonstration contest and monitor the Parliamentary Law testing room today.
